I have always been.
Yes, I was that child that gave away too many details.
Sometimes these stories would get me into trouble because I would often add in colorful images, from my imagination, and enhance the truth adding in more emotions – I wanted to make the stories juicier -- more exciting. Yes, I embellished and people loved it! But it also got me into trouble with relatives – and a few close friends. I couldn’t blame them, they were right.
But another truth was happening, I was taking my first steps into being aperforming artist.
Even if I am using my imagination, there is always truth deeply inserted in the questions I am asking when I create. The exciting part is getting to share my questions, and my fun stories, with others.
Experimenting with interdisciplinary mediums offers my work new opportunity to fully express itself to its fullest potential. Plus, it's a lot more fun with friends!
I am originally from Miami, Florida where the cafecitos, my Cuban family, and the ocean feed my soul. And now my story brings me to Harlem, New York!
